Travelling to Vietnam in 2022 Is So Easy!

Here’s another compelling reason to visit Vietnam — Starting from 15 May 2022, Vietnam has dropped all Covid-19 testing requirements for all international arrivals.


That means travelling to Vietnam is incredibly easy! Here’s what you need to know:

Who can travel to Vietnam?

Vietnam borders are now reopened to all foreign travellers.

Do I need to take a Covid test?

Pre-departure and arrival covid tests are not required from 15 May 2022 onwards. However, do take note that your airline may require you to test beforehand.

Do I need to quarantine in Vietnam?

Not required.

What documents do I need?

Proof of travel insurance: Your travel insurance must cover Covid-19 treatment and have a minimum cover of USD$10,000.


PC-Covid mobile app: Download Vietnam’s contact tracing app, which must be presented to enter all establishments in Vietnam.


Medical Declaration: Not required from 27 April 2022 onwards.


Proof of Vaccination: Not required from March 2022 onwards.


Visa: Visitors from the following countries may enter visa free and stay for a certain number of days.

  • Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia - 30 days

  • Philippines - 21 days

  • Belarus, Italy, Finland, Russia, Norway, Denmark, France, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom - 15 days

  • Japan, South Korea - 15 days

  • Brunei, Myanmar - 14 days


If you wish to stay beyond this number of days, you can apply for a visa extension upon arrival.


If your country is not visa exempt, apply for an e-visa here.


What mode of transportation can I use?

You may travel to Vietnam via land, sea, and rail.

Do I need travel insurance?

You must purchase travel insurance that covers Covid-19 treatment and have a minimum cover of USD$10,000.


Can I still travel to Vietnam if I'm not fully vaccinated?

Yes. Entry requirements for Vietnam are the same for all travellers, regardless of Covid-19 vaccination status.
